The local government of Flevoland and Dronten support the 7th international Velomobile seminar.
The velomobile sparks the imagination. It is an example of innovative product development, applying composite materials. The composite material sector is an important sector for the economy of Flevoland. Therefore, the Provincie Flevoland supports the initiative CompoWorld, a collaboration of education, research and businesses. It aims at developing a cluster of activities around the composite theme. This cluster focusses on innovation, new applications, the development of specific teaching modules and the support of businesses starting in the composite field.
Flevoland is well known for the large number of fast cycling tracks that fully accomodate the specific properties of velomobiles.
For the Provincie Flevoland it is obvious that the seventh international Velomobile Seminar will be held in Flevoland.
De Velomobile spreekt tot de verbeelding. Het is een voorbeeld van innovatieve productontwikkeling met gebruik van composieten. De composietensector is belangrijk voor de Flevolandse economie. De provincie Flevoland ondersteunt daarom het initiatief CompoWorld - een samenwerking van onderwijs, onderzoek en bedrijfsleven - om een cluster van bedrijvigheid te ontwikkelen rond het thema composieten. Dit cluster draait om innovatie, nieuwe toepassingen, het ontwikkelen van specifieke onderwijsmodules en het ondersteunen van starters die zich richten op composieten. Flevoland onderscheidt zich ook door het grote aantal snelle fietsroutes waar de specifieke eigenschappen van de velomobiles goed tot hun recht komen.
De provincie Flevoland vindt het daarom niet meer dan vanzelfsprekend dat het 7e internationale Velomobile Seminar in Flevoland plaatsvindt.
